Within the frame you set. You can lock a single destination or offer a few to choose from. Inside that, they pick their own dates, flights, lodging, and experiences from real, live options — so the trip fits them, while staying inside the limits you chose. They can't swap to somewhere you didn't offer.

Yes — setting the budget is a core part of building the gift. Your recipient sees how much is left as they make choices, and they can't exceed the cap. You can also allow a little flexibility above it if you want to leave some room.

Flights and stays come from live search, so your recipient is choosing from real, current prices rather than estimates. Travel prices can always move between choosing and booking — which is exactly why their choices come back to you to book yourself, so you're always working from the real price at the moment you book.

Nothing happens automatically — the gift simply waits for them. Since you're the one who books, nothing is ever spent on an unredeemed gift. If you change your mind, you can cancel it from your dashboard at any time.
